Here's an article about all the stuff happening at DL for Halloween this year, especially the brand-new Halloween makeover on SPACE MOUNTAIN! Holy carp.

I'm sure we'll have people down there and reporting back. I know I'm hoping we'll get down there too! It should be a fun season this year.

You'll have at least one person you know down there to trick or treat.
"Listen, I wanted to tell you, in case you happen to see me on the road in the next half hour or so, I have not
discovered zombies in my basement... I'm just running as fast as I can. It's called interval training. It's supposed to be good for
you."

I'll be at the park on October 6th, so I'll definitely be reporting in on all the holiday haunts and happiness. YAY.

I'll also be there that day - will no doubt be spending some serious time in the haunted mansion. Can't do Space Mountain - my wife will though - she
loves it!

I made it to Disneyland last Friday with some friends, and we were able to check out the new Ghost Galaxy on Space Mountain. My joke with others who have
expressed concern about this layover has been that the ride features Lonesome Ghosts, Jack Skellington, Davy Jones, and Stitch, with a cameo from the Disney
Princesses, with the tagline being "A Syngergistic Nightmare!" In actuality, it is done very well and only enhances rather than changes the
storyline.
Haunted Mansion Holiday, however, is too much for me. I have heard the criticisms of it changing the ride completely, and I agree. It makes for a fun NBC dark ride, but it makes for a lousy Mansion layover. The stretch room was cool, but once I saw the load area, I had made up my mind that I cannot wait until all is normal next year. In fact, I felt that the Mansion elements only got in the way of telling the NBC story. I hope to make it tomorrow night to see the fireworks, which I am very much looking forward to seeing since it is based on WDW's successful Halloween fireworks. This is midterms week for me, though, so all is dependent on me getting my papers done tonight. |

Interesting take on the HMH. I have been every year since they started the makeover in 2001 (I loved the original music for the load area and luckily have it
on CD). I must say I just love the makeover and am pleased they do it every year but I can understand the alternative view. The makeover is amazingly popular
and this year was the first year I'd ever seen Jack and Sally as characters walking around the park.
I was very impressed with the Halloween Time theme this year. The park was beautifully decorated. The fireworks were just brilliant. Disneyland just keeps improving! |
