Now I can pretty much guess, each of us knows which Disney movies we love & like right? Well here is a tougher one, which Disney moives do you NOT like
and why?
Without listing a ton of movies (besides I don't think any of us dislike that many), name 2 or 3 of what you think to be the worst of Disney. Try not to
be obsessive in your dislike just a few sentences to a paragraph about why you think this movie did not do well for Disney.
I'll start, with a film I feel will be on alot of lists, "Home on the Range", hopefully the person who suggested this film be produced has since
been sacked. While the animation is good, it is way too cliche', not funny even the all star voices could not save it. It was just bad writing. One has
to wonder if Disney needed a tax write off badly that year. Seemed more like looney tunes than Disney.
Second and right behind HOTR is "Disney's Treasure Planet" a great idea gone wrong. Again stupendous animation (no fault there). But the story
and the characters are just plain bad. Should have kept the animators and hired new writers. The sad part was this movie had potential to be a great Disney
flick. Seems to me I have seen a few of the aliens show up in Lilo & Stitch, Ha!
My third choice (and I bet I get some serious disagreements) is Brother Bear, the story is too in ways to "Sword in the Stone" & "The
Emperors New Groove" both of which did the turn to an animal to learn a lesson thing much better! I think it would have done much ridden in on the
coattails of "Pocahontas" while people were still int eh Native American mindset. Seems more like a Don Bluth file than Disney. Again the animation
is ok, but the story....uh uh.
Ok those are my choices, what are yours? You can share them with us or tell me why you disagree with my statements OR both! (I like that choice
best).

I can only think of one offhand. I'm not at all into Lilo & Stitch. Disney should never feature Elvis. The story is too far fetched. I try to avoid
reading this one to my children as well.

Haha, I'm going to slightly disagree with those a little...but only slightly. I really enjoy watching Brother Bear and Lilo & Stitch, but i enjoy them
more for the characters than anything else. There are definitely parts in both movies that make me cringe, but there are many parts that really make me smile.
But some of my biggest Disney dissapointments are: The Haunted Mansion-simply because it could have been SOOO much better if the writing had the same humor/fright balance that the attraction does. While the movie obviously tried to be more comedy, same as the ride at parts, I think it's a different 'cheap' kind of comedy that makes people roll their eyes. The Santa Clause 2 & 3 - Mostly 3, but seriously..what a joke Home on the Range- Yes, we mostly have this peice of work to thank that we havent seen a traditionally animated movie from Disney in nearly 5 years...animation was good....script was terrible |
