This thread is for anyone who is planning a trip to "The Happiest Place On Earth" in California, or has had the pleasure of already being there. Questions can be answered, comments can be expressed, and friends can be made by meeting up with people who are going to be in the park at the same time as you. I sure we can even set up a night when we can all be on a chat !! I'll get things started ..... I am going to be in Disneyland Dec. 4-7, 2009. I have been there 15 times previous and I can't wait to get back. The last time I was there was 2007, after a 15 years absence.

I cant imagine what trip you are talking about? are you referring to the one that you twisted my arm into doing just over a month after being at WDW????? At least I have time to research for this one. I dont need to research as much for the one in my backyard (basically)... I just have to get a bunch of stuff with Tink. You know we are not being that crazy for DL right?

DL is my annual break and I love the magic so much I have walked through the front gates 27 times in 11 trips over the last 18 years. Travelling from Sydney to LA is like a walk in the park now. The flight is just 13 hours and we get in before we leave! I know there are much more experienced people than me to give these tips but here are mine for the record: If staying at the Grand Californian, always use valet parking. Otherwise, good luck finding the car park and getting back to the hotel within an hour. Same goes for picking your car up when you're leaving. It's about $17 per day but worth it for the convenience. Book your lunch or dinner at Blue Bayou before you go to Disneyland. The Disney Dine line is 714.781.DINE. You have to do it within 2 months of going but you won't be disappointed on the day. Save some time for Downtown Disney - it's a lot of fun particularly if you are staying at one of the Disney Hotels. If you have children, go on all their rides first - they will get tired way before you do and when they do, you can take them back to the hotel for a sleep - or better yet, the nanny can tae them back and you can head over to Indiana Jones.

Posts: 220 01/15/09 06:50:49	It looks like we will be going this year. Hadn't planned on it. But thanks to a trip give-a-way on the radio, we are now! Trying to decide between Dec 4-7. ( my birthday is the 5th- Walt's too) We have been there at Christmas before and we love it. OR do we go in September for the Haunted Mansions 40th Anniversary. I waiting to see what the park has planned for that. I'm depending on Master Gracey to keep us updated on that. Oh and Chef Mayhem too. Dr.K

Posts: 40 04/12/09 18:37:28	My mom is turning the big 50 this year, and so is her best friend, but in two different months. So September was chosen, and then the date of 9.9.9 was picked!! So I will be there from the 9th of september til the 15th. I haven't been to DL in over 5 years and can't wait! Sadly, didn't get any HM 40th tickets but plan to ride the ride that day. XD

We went last year in September and it was awesome, so that was our month of choice again this year...I am a little nervous about the HM anniversary and the Expo (I don't have tickets to either) happening at the same time, but it will be a fantastic trip no matter what! And with 9/9/9, I bet we'll get to ride the HM this year, woohoo!

I'm taking him to CA Adventure/Disneyland one day, and then Disneyland another day and then my friend from Australia's going to be in Town so I'm taking him once too. I'm so thrilled.
