I had to go with the Roger Rabbit line, as I've only been in that line... not on the ride! It broke down both times we tried to go on it! Haven't been
in years... about 6, so maybe I should try again. Never made it ti the actual ride but I liked the amusing features they had while waiting 20+ minutes. All
rides should offer some sort of entertainment for us while we wait.

I love Tower of Terror !!! But I have to admit on the whole I love all the older rides (even it's a small world) and their queues. The magic of the park is
a combination of it all ! (for me, anyways !! LOL)

I agree, Jenroc - once you fall under the spell of the parks, anticipating the older rides is part of the experience, even if you are just waiting in long
winding lines. And as I said on the podcast, you can never underestimate the entertainment value of people watching!

What about the Haunted Mansion? | #4

The Haunted Mansion line is a classic! There are so many subtle things to look at - I never get tired of it, and when they change it up for the holidays
it's always such a treat.

Mousetalgia Jeff wrote: I soooo agree with you - people watching is so under rated !!! Add that and the queues together and it is an experience beyond belief !!!! That is sometimes worth the price of admission alone !! I am big on memories and I love that fact that when I returned last year after a 15 year absence, I found so many things that had stayed the same, it brought tears to my eyes. I took over 600 photographs in one day !!! The next day was the Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End premier and that was an experience like no other !!!!! |

I've not been out to DL since I was 2, but I know WDW queues pretty well. I can't choose a favorite though, they are all well done (except Primeval
Whirl *shudder*).

I went with Indy, although TOT is a close second. But my all-time fave would be THM.

TOT does have a great queue. I was surprised at how much detail they did on it, as it seems to have been a lost focus in some of the recent rides.

Of the choices, I went with Roger Rabbit- it really has a great queue and does a great job of building anticipation for the attraction. My all time favorite
queue though would be Star Tours. There are tons of great details the imagineers through into it; and from the moment you enter, you really feel as though
you've been transported to that galaxy far, far away.

I agree with you regarding Star Tours - I regret not including that on the list. Being in real space up close to a life-size, robotic C-3P0 is one of those
only-in-Disneyland moments.

I had to cast my vote for Monsters Inc. That queue kills me everytime. The music, as mentioned on the podcast, is great (big fan of jazz!), and the posters
and vending machine always leaves me laughing. I also really like the attraction itself so the queue is just part of the story-telling and the experience
which is what good queues should be.

I went with Indiana Jones but I love StarTours and Monsters Inc., is great once you get inside. My list would also include Thunder Mountain because of the
small scale town and the animals from the extinct ride was it Nature's Wonderland?

I'll echo the idea that I would have gone for Star TOurs. I love the fake vacation packages to Hoth and other places.
But, I went with the Tower of Terror because of all of the fantastic details they put into the place. I almost enjoy the lobby and waiting areas more than I did the ride, and I really enjoy the ride! |

Sucker for that old time radio! | #16

I love the old radio soundtrack on the Jungle Cruise - most people probably don't even notice it. However, they have it on Indiana Jones too and I'd
have to say that Indiana Jones gets the nod for best queue from me. I love the bats and the under-powered lights and the feeling of anticipation as it slowly
builds. I also love the narrator on the old newsreel telling of the double crossing deity and taking a detour to doom!

For me, it was a tie between TOT and Indy. I went with Indiana Jones because I thought it had a little more detail and I love some of the 'interactive'
spots, such as the rope you pull to help the digger out... and you hear he falls. lol

My favorite in years past was Star Tours. Probably because I grew up with Star Wars and getting the chance to step into that world was a dream come true. But
on our last visit (April of 2008) my oldest daughter who must now use a wheelchair made it impossible to enjoy the queues because in most cases we had to enter
through the exits and while everyone was very nice and polite we feel that we missed part of the experience of the attractions. Speaking for my family we would
rather wait in line so if anyone out there is listening more wheelchair accessible queues would be nice.
